This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!
Rejoice! God loves you and there is nothing that you need to do to receive the Holy Spirit. Sit back, take a slow deep breath and say quietly, " God loves me, I am forgiven, I am valued, I am part of the eternal I Am." Now look at your neighbor and say quietly, "God loves you. You are forgiven. You are valued, You are part of the eternal I AM. Now in unison say God Loves us, we are forgiven, we are valued, We are part of the eternal I am.
God is everywhere in the universe. God is the universe and has been expanding in space for 13.7 billion years. God is all that exists. Think this thought. I am part of the eternal I AM. What I do is important. We are God's hands and feet, cobblers and neurosurgeons, believers and co-creators, and we exhibit Agape, Christian love.
Consider what these words mean. Open your minds and allow a sense of community to enfold you. Invite the Holy Spirit into your consciousness and hear Paul's words from Corinthians:
If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but do not love, I am nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate.
John Wesley, a Priest in the Church of England, founder of the Methodist Church did not desire to start a new church but to reform the Church of England. He made two trips to the new world and then had a world shattering epiphany, and he really believed! His rules for life are,
Do all the good you can, by all the means you can
IN ALL THE WAYS YOU CAN, in all the places you can
At all the times you can, to all the people you can
As long as you ever can
Today, you and I have the ability to change. We can choose to relax more, enjoy each moment more, not take everything so seriously. We can climb more mountains and swim more rivers and enjoy walking bare footed earlier in the spring and later in the fall. We can go to more parties and ride more merry go rounds and pick more daisies. We can fly more kites, pet more puppies, memorize more poems, take more holidays, ride more horses, befriend more children, read more classics, forget more injuries, write more letters, tell more jokes, seek more wisdom, take more walks, greet more sunrises, and savor more sunsets We can exercise more regularly, express gratitude more frequently, breath more deeply, laugh more heartily,, give more generously, trust more completely, forgive more quickly, love more warmly, act more courteously, speak more kindly, judge more charitably, serve more willingly, pray more expectantly and smile more joyfully.
Thursday morning I attended bible study at the Mendocino Presbyterian Church, the topic was Acts 22. The printed words were read and discussed in great detail. At the far end of the table from me sat a man that I do not know well who was obviously in pain. After the close of the meeting I asked if he wished to share his physical problem and he did for several minutes He also mention that he had an appointment with a physician in Santa Rosa in August, who I have known and respected for over 25 years. I suggested that he take pen and paper and outline his problems briefly 1,2,3,4,5, and ask his advice about further consultants and evaluations to decrease his suffering. We are all given talents ; some can teach, some can preach; some can clean and others can cook; some can operate and some can medicate; all can listen carefully to questions and problems and can use their talents for the good of the body of Christ!
Yes, we do have control, we are truly at choice, we do have free will to enjoy all of the beauties, kindnesses and blessings that life with the Holy Spirit entails. Say yes to the Spirits invitation. Today accept the divine I Am's invitation to enjoy.
